CONDITION: Suitable browning appreciated from age. Very Good Condition. Map image is crisp, clean, clear with excellent detail and in Very Good Condition. Centerfold only slightly age toned, the scan tends to make it darker than what it really is. Blank on reverse side. This beautiful map would look great matted and framed. An art supply store can provide you with a selection of frames for old art treasures.
The beautiful decorative vignettes include fine engraved views of GOLD WASHING IN BRAZIL, BRAZILIAN BRIDGE OF ROPES, RIO JANEIRO, DESCENT OF THE CORDILLERAS, NATIVES OF CHILI, VALPARAISO, CONDOR AND LLAMAS OF PERU. The decorative border that surrounds the map is typical of a John Tallis production and is beautifully scrolled. Some of the places shown on the map are Brazil, Matto Grosso, Patagonia, Buenos Aires, Colombia, Banda Oriental, Bolivia, New Granada, North & South Peru - Beautiful topography and counties, cities, towns named within the Provinces.
