The beautiful decorative vignettes include fine engravings of RUINS AT UXMAL, GOLD WASHING and MEXICAN PEASANTRY. The decorative border that surronds the map is typical of a John Tallis production and is beautifully scrolled with vegetables, cactus, fruits, embellished on vines.
Shown are New or Upper California outlined with colour, Texas outlined in color and Mexico is divided by counties with colored outlines. The map makes reference to the newly discovered GOLD districts of California which is colored brightly in yellow outline along the Sacramento River and the Rio San Joaquin crossing the Nueva Helvetia.
The map also shows a few Indian Reservations like the Pah Utah Indians, the Utah Indians.

The decorative border that surronds the map is typical of a John Tallis production and is beautifully scrolled.

A great item for the genealogy buff! Old maps can be a great help in tracing your family lineage. Some maps show important borders from a long time ago.
