The Balkans is the historic and geographic name used to describe a region of south-eastern Europe. Countries commonly included in theBalkan region are: Albania, Herzegovina Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Greece, Republic of Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, but only the European part of it, including Istanbul (traditionally called Rumelia or Eastern Thrace) Some other countries are sometimes included in the list as well: Romania, Slovenia. Some countries, including Romania, Croatia, Slovenia, and sometimes also Greece, usually prefer not to be called Balkan countries. The region takes its name from the Balkan mountains which run through the centre of Bulgaria into eastern Serbia.
CONDITION: Map has a centerfold. German Text. As Scanned. Image is clear and sharp with beautiful depth and detail and in Very Good Condition. Blank on Reverse side. This beautiful print would look great matted and framed. An art supply store can provide you with a selection of frames for old art treasures.
