AMPHITHEATRE OF THE ILLGRABEN,Switzerland,Antique Map HISTORICAL MAP CHART
Between Loèche and Sierre there is abundant evidence of geological forces. A prehistoric lanslide on the right bank has left behind an exposed stone surface, covered with steppe-like vegetation. The mass of earth and rock gave birth to the Pfyn-Finges hills. Finally, the lava flows from Illgraben created the Souste cone which in turn engendered the Rhone rapids.
