Henry Louis Dupray French 1841-1909. Recognized as one of the "Masters" of twentieth century Painter of portraits and military subjects , Born in Sedan (Ardennes); died in Paris. His teacher was L.Cogniet and he was awarded 3rd place medals at the Salons of 1872, attests to his devotion and the consistency of his production, the grand Chevalier de la Legion d’honneur was bestowed on the artist in 1878, he began exhibiting at the Salon de Paris in 1863, portraits and military subjects Museums: Grenoble; Guéret; Le Mans; London South Kensington. Many of Henry Dupray's military paintings were produced as sepia prints circa 1895-1900s. The sepia prints are representative of the Napoleonic, medieval and pre 1900 British Battles as depicted in art by Henry Dupray. The prints include a separate tissued print, depicting the weapons and uniforms of the british battle period.
