Rachel (1636-1723), second daughter of the 4th earl of Southampton,
and widow of Lord Vaughan. She corresponded with Tillotson and other distinguished
men, and a collection of her admirable letters was published in 1773.. She
first married Francis, Lord Vaughan and later William, Lord Russell, who was
executed for high treason in 1683 afer being found guilty of involvement in
the Rye House Plot.
