Mariinsk is a town in the Kemerovo Oblast in Russia, located on the Kiya River (Ob's basin) some 180 km northeast of Kemerovo. The town of Mariinsk was founded in the 18th century as a village Kiyskoye. In 1856, it was granted town status and renamed to Mariinsk one year later. Mariinsk stands at the intersection of the Kiya River and Trans-Siberian Railway.
