St. Lawrence's Gate
Considered one of the best of its kind in Europe, the four-storey construction
was built as part of the town defences in the 13th century and restored
in 1700. The Guardhouse and tollbooth survived into the 18th century.On
its southern side part of the old wall and embrasure are still visible.
