A Lokomobile or a Lokomobil (of Latin locus: Place and mobilis: ) a steam engine plant with small achievement is mobile in closed design, with all building groups necessary for the enterprise of the plant (firing, steam boiler, control, as well as the entire drive unit, consisting of cylinder (n), piston, crankshaft and flywheel with wheel) on a common platform is installed. Lokomobilen could be installed movable and stationarily. Contrary to the automobile Lokomobilen were not thus self-propelled in their basic form „automobile “, - the term „mobilely “designated here only the moving drive engine actually. There was however also a whole number of different self-propelled Lokomobile, like e.g. Steaming race rollers, steam plows, steam tractors, as well as smaller steam boats.
