Cunene is a province of Angola. It has an area of 87,342 km2 . Ondjiva is the capital of the province. Cunene lies north of the Cunene River,(transliterated Kunene), that forms the border between Angola and Namibia. . It flows from the Angola highlands south to the border with Namibia. It then flows west along the border until it reaches the Atlantic Ocean. It is one of the few perennial rivers in the region. It is about 700 mi (1126 km) long.
