Description: The Pink Cliffs in South West Utah is a series of rugged precipices (800 feet to 2,000 feet high) of multicolored sandstone (primarily pink) extending in great U-shaped arc through parts of Garfield, Kane, and Iron cos.; form escarpments of Paunsaugunt Plateau on E and S, of Markagunt Plateau on South. Unusually dissected areas in Garfield and Iron cos. now included in Bryce Canyon Natl. Park and Cedar Breaks National Monument. Partly in Dixie National Forest.
