The Madison Mountains of Montana are 45 miles long, featuring a fairly thick area of rugged peaks and rolling uplands that lie between the northwestern boundary of Yellowstone National Park to the east, the Madison River Valley on the west, and Big Sky and Bozeman to the northeast. The highest peak in the Madison Range is also the highest peak in Montana outside the Beartooth Range. Hilgard Peak measures at 11,316 feet, and appears as a sharp horn, a remnant of its active past of glaciation. TOROWEAP - This remote area of the North Rim lies between Kanab Canyon to the east and the Pine Mountains (Uinkaret Mountains) to the west. An overlook (elev. 4,552 feet) provides awesome Canyon views from sheer cliffs nearly 3,000 feet high above the river. Toroweap, also known as Tuweap or Tuweep, lies 140 road miles west of the developed North Rim area of Bright Angel Point. Dunajec River in the Pieniny Mountains. - The Dunajec is a river running through northern Slovakia and southern Poland. It is a tributary of the Vistula river. Pieniny is also a mountain system in Slovakia and Poland The Hohe Tauern is the highest range of the Alps east of the Brenner Pass, and includes the highest mountains in Austria. They are part of the Central Eastern Alps and are located in the Austrian states of Salzburg, Carinthia and East Tyrol, as well as a small part of South Tyrol in Italy. The range is bounded by the Salzach valley to the north (separating it from the Kitzbühel Alps); the Mur valley and the Murtörl Pass to the east (separating it from the Niedere Tauern); the Drave valley to the south (separating it from the Southern Limestone Alps); and the Birnlücke pass to the west (separating it from the Zillertal Alps).
